This painting will be exhibited in the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition hosted by the Legacy Gallery, in Scottsdale, AZ. The Show dates are: April 30 through May 31, 2010.

"Dream Catcher Earrings" Study

This is a 12x16 study for a portrait I intend to paint at some point in the near future. I think the earrings are interesting and like the look of them on the model. They have a native American design feel to them. I hope she still has them.

"15th Anniversary Celebration" at Whistle Pik Gallery, May 7th 2010

These are just two of my paintings that will be included in the 15th Anniversary Celebration at the Whistle Pik Gallery in Fredericksberg Texas in May. I will post more information later.

"Devilicious"

A graphic designer friend of mine has a product line on Zazzle called The Collier Collection. "The Wild Flower Garden" Painting in Progress

This first step is just an application of a thin wash to set the tone, or harmony of the painting, and also alows me to wipe out the area that I intend to place the figure in this composition.

In Step two, I start painting the head, which will be my observational reference for the size of everything in this painting. It is important to get this part reasonably accurate. I am not doing a portrait of her, but interpreting the reference.

In this step, I am working outward from the focal point, the head.

In this step, I am painting directly, and developing the figure as I go..... trying to put as accurate as possible pieces of paint to minimize the changes and adjustments that will have to be made later in the painting.

This is almost complete. Just need to adjust here and there, and apply a bit more paint finish a few spots that are a bit thin. The Gallery has seen the painting at this stage, and seem to be happy with it, so it is heading west to Texas for an anniversary show. I will post details later.

"Summer Shade"

"Summer Shade" is for the most part complete. Just might adjust a few subtle things that would probably not be noticable, but might make me feel better about it. The gallery has seen it and seems to like it, so it`s headed for Texas.

"New Painting in Progress"

This is a new painting that I am hoping to finish in a couple of days. I painted this much of it yesterday. I need to finish it so that I can get an image to the gallery for the promo. So far I am not unhappy with. I will post the finished piece later.
